Lebanon out of Asian Cup
Fellow members of the Socceroos's Asian Cup Qualifiying Group D, the Lebanese National Football Side has withdraw from the Asian Cup qualifiers because of the terrible conflict with Israel. This is not good at all for the Socceroos even though technicially it will be much easier to make the Cup. One must point out that Australia was never in danger of not going through into it. Lebanon's withdrawl however means the Socceroos will be playing less matches and one less home match in Australia which means less people will be able to see them. This is also a great pity for Lebanon who showed encouraging signs with a 1-1 draw with Australia's next opponent's Kuwait. All in all, this is a terrible result for football worldwide and proves that even the world game cannot overcame everything. Let us hope Lebanon will be back on the world stage in the near future.
